cut above the rest

giving is all important.

Giving is fun. Especially to the poor and to the needy. It has to be experienced to be believed.
All the more so, if it involves a sacrifice.
Spending time in orphanages, old age homes and houses for the dying destitutes should be encouraged by every family across the world. By this I don't mean to encourage the existence of such homes but the best we cld do is atleast share if not erase the existence of such places.

If each man/woman handles his/her responsibilities, such homes wld definitely die out of existence.

I wld say birthdays and wedding days should be celebrated in such places with them.
It is just not our money and things that they seek but also our love and time, more importantly.

Visits to such places teach us the value of each another's life. Yes, initially it is painful and then U learn to enjoy their company, even.

One incident that touched my heart: A young couple went and gave an envelope of money to Mother Teresa collected by foregoing the pomp and gaiety of their marriage. Is this possible for everybody? Well actually no.
But some lesser sacrifice is definitely possible.

This being the start of the Festival season across the world, I'd say "Think" and then "Act".

  • I've volunteered with a couple of programs, in the university and so, and now I'm addicted. The feeling is amazing.

I still need to volunteer for those who need the help the most, as you say.
